2. Moisturizing can clog pores and increase acne

A lot of people skip moisturizing and focus way more on drying their pimples out. However, the fact is every skin type, no matter how much oily or dry it is, needs moisturizing to keep a healthy balance. If you are skipping out on moisturizer, your skin tries to balance itself out by increasing oil production which results in more break out. If you are worried about keeping your pores clear, just be sure to buy a moisturizer that is labeled as non-comedogenic, this means that it will take care of your skin without affecting the pores.

3. Putting toothpaste on pimples helps heal them

Menthol or mint toothpaste can dry out a pimple, there is no denying that. However, dermatologists warn that toothpaste also irritates your skin and leads to redness and peeling. It dries your skin out. If you want to get rid of acne use specialized tubes or lotions for them. However, there are several home remedies also.

4. Makeup causes acne

For some reasons, people always connect makeup with acne and believe that going makeup-free can clear their skin completely. But the truth is that makeup itself doesn’t cause acne. However, there are some things that you should keep in mind. Opt for the products that good for your skin type. Also, be sure to clean your makeup brushes and sponges regularly otherwise they can harvest acne-causing bacteria. Always wash your hands first if you apply makeup using your fingers. 5. Junk food causes acne

Good news for all you junk food junkies, it’s totally safe for your skin. Greasy foods such as pizza, burgers, and fries, aren’t responsible for your acne. However, there are other products that you should consume carefully like, dairy products as they are full of hormones that are known for triggering acne. Try to give up dairy for at least a week and see if your acne improves. But what you eat still highly influences how you look. So try following a healthy diet.
